Interim Entry
I'm trying, I'm trying...
We got through the move to New Hampshire (mostly), not without way too much work and two breakdowns but arrive safely we did. Only our house still isn't ready due to all the rain up here. The builder has put us up in an apartment where I can still connect to the internet through the town's free WiFi service. The problem is that my laptop keeps overheating and has reached the point of being nearly unusable.
This entry is an experiment: I'm trying out a new USB powered cooling pad while checking e-mail, downloading a video clip, and now writing this. The cooling pad comes with a temperature gauge that has shown the laptop go from 29 degrees celsius to over 39; right now it's coming in at 36.2. If this thing works I can start blogging again. If not, it'll have to wait until I get a replacement which probably wouldn't happen until after we got in the house. Once it stops raining, of course.
Anyway, the builders saw a bear run down the driveway, moose, deer and wild turkeys. They didn't mention black flies and mosquitoes but at least the latter are the big, dumb ones I remember from the years before I moved to Florida. Down there they have the small black mothers that seem to have been crossbred with houseflies. They're quick as hell, hard to kill, and the bastards all bite over and over again. At least the regular models supposedly bite you once then leave you alone. Another reason to be happy to have left Florida.
Now on to the next laptop test...
